Live Staking Event

Live staking is a process where parts of healthy plants are cut when they are dormant, stored in a cold environment and then planted directly in the soil in the spring. They are used  to help stabilize stream banks.

The boy scouts from troop 333 and 309 did a great job collecting the live stakes and learning about the process. They also enjoyed a meal provided by Little Shamokin Creek Watershed volunteers for their efforts.
